In every project there is a failure in some certain step that effects the course of events which can be considered as a tuition paid for success.
I had mentioned about Vestas Belen Project in my previous article. Thus far, we had completed the erection of 10 units of Vestas V90 wind turbines. During the execution of job, we had came through a near miss. Because of inadequate ground conditions and negligence of operator, our company’s reputation was damaged.
To be able to recover this issue, not only our project manager entrusted an engineer as a site manager, but he also entrusted a HSE engineer who was me for Agaoglu's Mut Project. In my opinion, this innovation is going to raise the bar on customer satisfaction and keep our lead over our competitors. For it is a known issue that time to market is extremely important for products and services to and be able to make them accepted by customers and make customers be of use. Only by designating the right timing, we can make these innovations be spotted. As Al Ries indicated “Strategy and timing are the Himalayas of marketing. Everything else is the Catskills”. For I was the one who was entrusted as a HSE engineer, I couldn’t tell my ideas to my manager about the false timing because he would think that I was trying to find an excuse for I was not inclined to go that site because of my heavy schedule. Sometimes it is impossible to show that the handles of balance are not at the same level, because of the position that you are in.
Some strong, new ideas wanders around for many years; the reason why they are wandering around is not that they are not spotted; but there is not anyone who is ambitious enough to realize them. On the other hand, ambition to realize these ideas are sometimes not enough, correct timing must be chosen to attract customer’s attention.
